Hello you lovely bunch,
Thank you all for a brilliant evening on Wednesday, it was particularly lovely to see our dear friends Mark & Heather again.
We had a go at Jason’s fantastic performance idea – it was great & perfect for getting people who’ve never played a uke to feel like they really are making music! It’s going to be fab!
It was really good to have a practice of the songs for two our upcoming performances. Below are some more details about these & a reminder of our week off.
First up is the Pevensey Ukulele Festival this Sunday, 20 August. It’s at the Smugglers Inn, High Street, Pevensey, BN24 5LF. Our performance slot is 11.40am – 12.10pm. Please download & print the performance book that Andy has uploaded onto the songs page of the website. It should be another great day!
Next up, Magda’s Wedding (we’re playing a wedding!!) is on Saturday, 26 August – we will be playing at 6.00pm. The address is Kingston House, Wellgreen Lane, BN7 3NS – parking will be signposted. The dress code that Magda has given to their guests is to dress for the weather, you won’t be the smartest or the scruffiness – we should do exactly the same – but with our usual great hats!! Jason & Andy have put together our songs into a special wedding song book which Andy will put on the website for you to download. Magda has very kindly said that we are welcome to stay & join them for a hog roast at 7.30pm. Even more brilliant is that those of us who want to are welcome to camp! We are asked to wait until after 4.30pm before we go to pitch our tents – Jason & I are very much hoping to. Thank you so much Magda, for inviting us to play on your special day and for letting us stay – it’s a privilege!!
[EDIT by ANDY] Both Pevensey & Magda’s songbooks are on the Songs page of the web-site or should be available from the links below. If the don’t work, its due to browser security settings, so if they show a stange message you’ll need to visit the Songs page. The Pevensey book has C’Mon Everybody added and Folsom removed…
Please remember we are not meeting on Wednesday, 23 August…our next Cool Hand Ukes will be on 6 September.
Lastly from me for now is another call for songs for the Rivers & Trains book!
Enough from me, see you on Sunday!
