Aloha you lovelies!

Hello all you brilliant uke playing stars,

Once again what a gloriously fun evening we had on Wednesday. Thank you all!

First things first, a huge welcome to our new friend Pamela who joined us this week – we hope that you enjoyed yourself and that we will see you again very soon.
We spent most of the evening playing our way through the new, improved, bigger, better and shinier performance book – thank you Jason for compiling it. We also devoted some time to planning little skits to take place during our performance at Uckfield (and beyond)…I think the crowd particularly enjoyed seeing poor old Sue’s knickers!

I have been asked to pass on the following to you all from Jason…

“Thanks to the huge number who turned out for Uckfield on 14th July. I had oodles of positive feedback from the audience, and it went down very, very well. We may be asked to play at other charity performances on the back of this, and raised £47 on the night for us to donate. You were all brilliant.”
When we get together next time we can have a chat about which charity to donate to – we should perhaps save the money up and put it together with the oodles of cash that we make when we busk in Lewes on 13th August!”

We also discussed the Pevensey Ukulele Groups festival which is on Sunday 21 August at the Smugglers in Pevensey. It starts at noon and we have asked our friends for one of the earlier performance slots – which we will be 45 minutes!! We’ve put in a list of the songs we hope to sing and over the next couple of sessions we can have a good go at all of these – and maybe think of some more skits!!

Finally, also from Jason, when we were at Rye several of you asked him to write down some songs other groups were playing, for us to have a go at. Please see all five songs below for us to have a bash at on 27th July.

Until next time you lovely, bonkers lot.

Xx Abi
